The scorecard that never gets retyped
Players sign up in one tap, score on their phone, and the result goes where it needs to go. Tournament day stops being a two-person job, and nobody types up a card at nine in the evening.
Demonstration data limited view.
Every federation has the same unsolved job
Every national golf association sits under the World Handicap System, and many of them still run tournaments on paper cards that somebody types up afterwards. It costs staff days across every tournament, and it puts errors into handicaps that then follow players around.
On paper today
Sign-up sheet at the desk. Cards handed out. Cards collected. Cards typed in. Handicaps updated by hand. Two people, one long evening.
On GolfOS
Sign-up in the app. Flights built from the tee sheet. Scores entered on the course. Leaderboard live. Results out, nothing retyped.
Scoring that knows what the rest of the course is doing
Plenty of tools will run a competition, and several of them are free. What none of them can do is see the rest of your operation. They run beside the tee sheet. This runs inside it.
It knows who is playing
The flights come from the tee sheet, because the players booked into it. There is no second list to keep in step.
It knows how the round is going
A group that is nineteen minutes down shows up on the same screen as the leaderboard, so the starter can act before the field bunches.
It knows where the carts are
A cart on the wrong hole during a shotgun start is a problem the scoring app and the fleet system have to solve together. Here they are one system.
It knows the crew
Course setup tasks for tournament morning go out with the person and the checklist, from the same place the tournament lives.
It knows the members
Sign-ups, handicaps and memberships are the same records. A player is one person in the system, not one entry per tool.
It works with official systems, or on its own
The app can be the player's interface to a federation's official tournament system through an API, or the club can run the whole thing independently. Same screens either way.
What actually happens
- Before. The tournament is published online from the official federation system. Players sign up forms and see their start time when the draw is done.
- Now. They choose a tournamet, they tap sign me in, done. Afterwards, they receive a notification for any change to the tournament status.
- .
- The draw. Flights are built, and the flight information is pushed to players’ phones. The flights, scorers, and scoring cards are all set for the game.
- .
- On the course. Players score on their phones. The scorer confirms on his phone. The leaderboard updates live in the clubhouse and in the app.
- .
- After. Results are final when the last card closes. Nothing is retyped, nothing is reconciled, nobody stays late.
